Department hosts open house
We commissioned our new
truck, a 1998 Spartan 6-man cab, manufactured by RD Murray. It has a
Cummins diesel, 320 HP engine, 1250 gpm Hale mid-ship pump, Foam Pro 2001
foam system, 12k generator, winch, and a Wilburt light
tower.

This truck also carries 800 ft of LDH, 3 cross
lays, and 1000 ft of forester hose. A full rescue body with pull out
tool boards. This truck was designed to replace
3 older trucks: the first one being a 1973 Ford C-900 Young with a 50
foot tele-squirt and a 1000 gpm 2 stage Hale pump; the second
truck being a 1980 Ford C-8000 Young with a 1000-gallon tank and a
1000 gpm pump; and the third truck being a 1976 Ford F-250 grass
truck.
Our other trucks
include:
Our tanker, Number 8: a 1995 Freightliner chassis
with an S & S 3000-gallon tank. It has an N-14 Cummins 400 HP
engine, 750 mid-ship pump, 2-10" round side dumps, and a 12" square rear
dump which can be operated from the back of the truck or from the inside
of the cab.
Number 6 is a Ford C-9000
Pierce Body with a 3208 Cat, 210 HP engine, a 1000 gpm pump, 750-gallon
tank, 1000 ft of LDH, and 3 cross
lays.
Our ambulance is our
busiest truck that we run. It is a 2000 Ford E-350 Braun Express; NYS Certified ILS with a Physio Life 300 defib unit.
